While this mat is edible, and my bunnies have enjoyed nibbling (only a bit so far) on the corners, it's not the type that they shred into pieces within 24 to 48 hours! But my favorite thing about it is it doesn't have a stinky chemical smell, so common on many other "Natural fiber" mats for animals, so I don't have to worry when they eat it or lie on it!
Almost chewed up in not much more than a week!
I have 2 buns…they each LOVE this mat in different ways. Violet chews and digs at it…happily destroying it…While Elvis likes to lounge on his..a big hit !

We cannot line our rabbit enclosure with fabric because one cannot resist eating fabric, plastic, etc. She even gnaws metal. These mats are terrific for adding extra traction to our floors and satisfying our rabbit's insatiable chewing urge!
